Many folks have contacted us from around the world to share our adoption experiences and to get some idea of where to start. There are many resources around the internet so we won’t duplicate them here but simply point you to them. If you have any questions feel free to contact us and we’d be glad to share what we know.
- howtoadopt.org – By Christian artist Stephen Curtis Chapman; consolidation of all things adoption.
- adoption.about.com – This sight also has all sorts of adoption information and an outline of the process and many things to consider.
- riga.usembassy.gov – This is the US Embassy in Riga, Latvia for those interested in adopting from Latvia as we did. This section outlines the Embassy’s role in the process and provides a checklist. Adoption fees are not required by the Latvian Gov’t and the process does not require a lawyer or adoption agency. We did ours with some help of our church friends in Latvia.
- lm.gov.lv – This is the official web site of the Latvian Ministry of Welfare adoption section. It describes in detail the laws regarding international adoption from Latvia.
